  • Will upgrading increase my available donations?

    No, upgrading does not change the donations you qualify for—what you see is based entirely on each company's criteria. We do not hide eligible opportunities, so upgrading will not increase your donation selection.

  • What is the typical ROI of an upgrade?

    Upgraded events in 2023 received an average of 4.8x the number of donations and $10,500 in more donation value than free accounts (national average; results can vary by city/region).

  • Are there additional fees owed to DonationMatch based on what we receive?

    No, DonationMatch does not take a percentage of funds raised or charge per item. Our platform is free to use at the basic account level. If you choose to upgrade, all platform services are included in the upgrade fee.

    In rare cases, a 100% donation donor may request reimbursement for fulfillment costs like shipping and handling. If this applies, an estimated cost will be disclosed before requests are made, and any fees are paid directly to the donor—not to DonationMatch.

    Consignment packages have costs determined by and payable to each provider, not DonationMatch.

  • When can I request a money-back guarantee refund?

    You can request a refund starting from your event date (for Pro Event upgrades) or the end of your upgraded year (for Pro VIP upgrades) and up to 30 days afterward. This period allows us to verify eligibility based on the total value of donations received and ensure that requirements—such as completing the Event Marketing Review at least 45 days before your event and applying the feedback—have been met.

  • IRS-recognized federal “Exempt” status (U.S.) or CRA “Qualified Donee” status (Canada)

  • State charity registrations in “Good standing,” as required by law

  • The ability to be verified as an authorized contact

Once a request is approved, you’ll be given instructions on how to retrieve the donation and thank the donor company. E-delivered tickets and gift certificates are typically downloadable instantly.
